Hives are standard with Finger jointed construction, plastic foundations, and screened bottom boards. Why 2 deeps or 3 mediums? This is the amount the colony needs to make It through out winters. There has been a move for (1) size equipment this makes the mediums the brood nest as well as the honey supers. The traditional is the 2 deeps but the weight of a full deep can be up to 100lbs the mediums are around 55-65lbs. Either way you decide please allow 72hrs before pickup for complete assembly and paint.
